B.A.LL.B.(Hons.)

 

Admission process

Setting it apart from other NLUs, it conducts the AILET exam specifically for its admissions. AILET stands for ‘All India Law Entrance Test’ which is conducted by NLU Delhi for admissions to its undergraduate (UG), post graduate (PG) and PhD programms.

Eligibility:

Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 system) or an equivalent examination with 45% marks (42% in case of OBC’s and 40% for SC/ST).

Number of seats: 

B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) Programme

Total Seats: 110+10 (110 seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit). Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO are exempted from AILET but should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

WITHDRAWN FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2025-26

Due to administrative reasons the National University of Law, Delhi has withdrawn the undergraduate B.Com.LL.B.(Hons.) Programme for the Academic Year 2025-26.

Admission process

 Setting it apart from other NLUs, it conducts the AILET exam specifically for its admissions. AILET stands for ‘All India Law Entrance Test’ which is conducted by NLU Delhi for admissions to its undergraduate (UG), post graduate (PG) and PhD programms.

The AILET examination consists of three parts: English Language, Logical Reasoning, and Current Affairs & General Knowledge, with a total exam time of 120 minutes. Candidates will face 150 questions (for undergraduate courses) during this.

Eligibility:

Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 system) or an equivalent examination with 45% marks (42% in case of OBC’s and 40% for SC/ST).

Number of seats:

  • B.Com.LL.B.(Hons.)-It is a Non-Residential Programme. Total Seats: 50+10 (50 seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit). Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO are exempted from AILET but should have 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

 The supernumerary seats for Kashmiri Migrants (one seat) and Residents of Jammu & Kashmir (two seats) in each undergraduate programme will be finalised in consultation with Bar Council of India (BCI) shortly. If the BCI permits these supernumerary seats during the admission process, the university will allow candidates to exercise the option as follows: a) Before the last date for submission of the online application form: All eligible candidates can apply and exercise the option. b) After the last date for submission of online application forms and before the announcement of AILET 2025 results: Candidates who appeared in the All-India Law Entrance Test. c) After the announcement of AILET 2025 results and before the commencement of classes: Candidates who appeared in the All-India Law Entrance Test 2025.)

HOSTEL ACCOMODATION

Halls of Residence

The University has a sprawling campus at Dwarka with state of art infrastructure facilities comprising of a academic block (five floors), separate halls of residence for boys and girls hostel (six floors), an independent administration block (five floors), a fully air-conditioned auditorium for holding conferences and seminars.

It may be noted that due to availability of limited rooms in the Halls of residence, the National Law University, Delhi shall not be able to provide the Hostel facilities to all the newly admitted students of B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) Programme. The Hostel allotment shall be done on the basis of aerial distance from the NLU Delhi and as per the reservation policy of the University. It may also be noted that ranks in entrance examination or marks in qualifying examinations is not a criteria to allocate the Hostel accommodation. Admission to any course will not create any right in favour of any Candidate qua Hostel allocation..

RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES
  • Sports/Games

The facilities for sports are planned in the additional land which will be available to the University for the purpose, shortly. At present the university has a basketball, volleyball courts and state of art gymnasium with the latest equipments for boys and girls in their respective halls of residence.

  • Transport Facilities

The University also has two Innova Cars and a bus which is used for the student’s activities such as court visits, Legal Aid Programmes and Clinics. The University is very well connected through Metro Rail and has good DTC bus services.

  • Medical Centre and Ambulance

The university has a 24 hours medical room with a nurse. A doctor visits the campus from 4-5 p.m every day. Ambulance is also available round the clock for the residents of the University to deal with any emergency situation.

  • Cafeteria & Mess

University has a well furnished Cafeteria and a well equipped separate mess in the Boys and Girls Hostels.

  • Banks

UCO Bank has extension-counter for transactions on specified days of the week between 1-2 p.m. Students can open their accounts with the UCO Bank. The UCO Bank has also provided an ATM facility at the Campus.

HDFC Bank is also providing banking facilities at NLU, Delhi. The ATM of HDFC is available in the cafeteria

ACADEMIC FACILITIES
  • Library

National Law University Delhi Library also known as Justice T. P. S. Chawla Library was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Mr. Deepak Misra, the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court in 2010. The library has been named after Justice T.P.S. Chawla has a separate building with two floors with the beautiful campus of the University.

  • E-Moot Court Hall

The University has state-of-the-art E-Moot Court Hall equipped with hi-tech audio visual equipment’s having a seating capacity of 170 people.

  • Internet/Computer Centre

The campus is wi-fi (wireless friendly) enabled. The internet centre is located in the Library and has 50 high end desktops with Microsoft operating system and well equipped with optical drives.  The internet centre is supported with three servers and with a high speed bandwidth, centrally document & print facility is also available.

  • Seminar Rooms

NLU-Delhi has four Conference/Seminar rooms furnished with state-of the-art facilities in the Academic Block.

  • Digital Classrooms

Our classrooms are well equipped with digital podiums, LCD projector & display screen and internet (wi-fi) access.The students are required to purchase Laptops for making best use of internet connectivity for research purpose.

  • Auditorium

The University has a fully air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of over 650 people. The auditorium is equipped with latest state-of-the-art audio and visual facilities.The auditorium is used for organizing University functions including seminars, conferences and cultural programs
