Ambedkar National Law University, established in Sonepat by the State Government of Haryana in 2012 through State Legislature Act No. 15, stands as a premier institution exemplifying India’s commitment to justice and constitutional principles. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
The Admission is based on the merit through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). However, to qualify for admission: –
The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of the Board of School Education, Haryana or its equivalent State/Central Board with minimum 45% marks in the aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST candidates) OR
The candidate must have passed 10th with two-year diploma course or one year diploma course with one year apprenticeship from the ITIs recognized by the Skill Development & Industrial Training Institutes Department, Haryana, with Hindi or English as an additional subject from the Haryana Board of School Education, Bhiwani.
The candidates appeared in the qualifying examination held in 2025 may apply provisionally, subject to the condition that they shall produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the prescribed percentage of marks and other requisite documents at the time of their counselling for admission at DBRANLU, Sonepat.

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University started its first academic session in July 2019. Four
batches of B.A. LL.B.(Hons.) have been admitted and the University is functioning from its main
campus i.e. Plot No. 5, Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Rai, Sonepat, Haryana.
Boys and Girls Hostels are under the overall supervision of the Chief Warden. He/She is assisted by the team of Wardens and Hostel Supervisors. All admitted students have to reside in University Hostels. Hostels are constructed on the latest modern pattern. These are equipped with all facilities and equipped with neat & clean mess/dining facilities.
The University is situated in the Rajiv Gandhi Educational City, Rai, Sonepat where more than thirteen renowned educational institutions and universities have been established and are functional. The location provides a perfect positive and friendly environment for education besides the overall development of students. The University has firmly resolved to impart advanced legal education, practical legal skills, and interdisciplinary understanding, keeping in view the requirements of a just and equitable society.
As a fully residential university, DBRANLU has separate Halls of residence for boys and girls. There are two separate wings having ample occupancy for boys and girls with all necessary modern facilities and amenities like a gym, indoor games, air-conditioned entertainment rooms, guest rooms, etc. Hostels being miniature societies enable students to meet people from diversified cultural backgrounds, and facilitate mutual interaction, sharing, understanding, and appreciating one another’s views and experiences. It helps to widen their worldview and acquire important interpersonal skills. As a ‘home away from home’, campus life offers exciting experiences to students coming from diverse sections and different regions of the country. Here indoor and outdoor game facilities such as table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, cricket, football, etc. provide a healthy environment for the residents. Medical facilities, including visiting doctor, is a part of the setup.
Faculty Residence
Adequate facility for accommodation is also provided to all the Faculty members and fully furnished staff quarters are available on campus. The University Guest House and NLU House are adequately equipped for University dignitaries and visitors. All residential blocks are equipped with a cable connection, campus LAN and the internet.
Academic Block
The academic block is built on the latest architectural marvel and is fully equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern teaching aids, and equipment required for academic pursuits. The University is providing air-conditioned classrooms fitted with the latest teaching aids to create a congenial academic environment. It will have a well-stocked library, a well-equipped and fully air-conditioned Computer Lab with an internet facility. In addition to this, the University will provide a fully Wi-Fi-enabled campus. The Language Lab equipped with modern gadgets and learning tools will help in improving the writing and presentation skills of the students. Hostels for Boys and Girls students are complete and a Guest House, Canteen, Tuck-Shop, Dispensary, Bank, ATM, and Utility Centre are being put in place. Academic administration is a branch of University employees responsible for the maintenance and supervision of the institution and separate from the faculty or academics, although some personnel may have joint responsibilities.
Mooting/ Practical Learning
DBRANLU shall be committed to providing a rich culture of mooting among the students to learn the application of law in the legal profession. To help, prepare and train the students in their mooting exercises, the university envisages an advanced Moot Court Hall carefully designed to match the standards of the Supreme Court of India and the High Courts.
Inviting Hon’ble Judges, judicial officers, and practicing lawyers to adjudge moot court competitions and conduct seminars and workshops. Moots shall also be the main part of the course curriculum. There shall also be scheduled visits and internships to courts and other related departments such as revenue departments, and police stations in addition to internships with lawyers, law firms, and other organizations is going to be an integral part of practical learning.
Medical Facility
Health care services are the prime concern of parents when they leave their wards at their home away from home. At DBRANLU we have a proper medical center, with facilities to meet any emergency situation when need be. Doctors visit the Centre for Medical Care daily between in evening hours. The Centre is well equipped with all the basic medicines which may be required to cater to minor medical needs. These services are available 24*7.
