The name Dharmashastra does not signify any particular religion, caste, and creed. It is used as a signifier to signify the essence of Dharma. The basic attribute of ‘Dharma’ is to uphold, bear, endure, and support the society without any kind of discrimination and also to maintain order and harmony among people and ensure that they are committed to defending the ideals of righteousness and justice in any circumstances.
In the modern context, our Constitution is our Dharmashastra and every citizen has to obey and respect the constitution. Our Constitution helps establishing the supremacy and rule of law.
