Bachelor of Arts (Policy Science) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) [BA LL.B (Hons.)]

All Undergraduate Programme will have options to complete with Double Majors, Double Minors and Major & Minors.

Eligibility

First Division/ Class (60% or 6.5 CGPA in 10-point scale) in 10+2 examination;
Those who have appeared for the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are eligible to apply. In such case, they must attach proof of CGPA/ Marks in the Class 10 (Secondary) examination;

General Conditions:
The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks if the degree-awarding Institute/University provides marks in the CGPA system. Then, the admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10, the eligibility of the candidate will be calculated corresponding to the equivalence. Those appearing in the final examination of the last qualifying degree are eligible to apply. In such cases, they must attach proof of CGPA till the last semester.

INTAKE AND RESERVATION:

The university in its first year has 60 seats which will be increased for the under graduate and post graduate courses in the coming admission as 100 seats will be kept for the country and out of that 50 will be for students from Meghalaya, 50 for the students from rest of the country and 50 will be meant for the foreign Nationals. 50% of the seats shall be reserved for Meghalaya State Domiciled Tribes as per the Meghalaya State Reservation Policy 1972 or as amended thereafter and the remaining 50% for candidates from the rest of India and international applicants.

Application Procedure:
Applicants are required to login at the portal and register [admission.nlumeg.ac.in]. Once they receive the login ID and password, they are required to fill up the online application with all the details. Applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) indicating their career goals and reasons for opting for dual degree in law for Undergraduates and Master’s degree for Postgraduate. Such SOP should not exceed 500 words. After completing their application form, they are required to pay the requisite application fee and click the submit button after verifying the details. Please note that incomplete applications and/or applications without fee payment will not be processed. All applications are to be submitted online. There is no provision for hard copy submission.

Application Fee:
For all applicants, the application fee is Rs. 3,500/- [Rupees Three thousand five hundred only], except for Meghalaya state-domiciled Scheduled Tribes (ST) who are required to pay Rs. 2,000/- [Rupees Two thousand only]. Payment should be made at the time of Application Submission through the payment gateways.

Mode of Selection:
On receipt of applications, the same will be scrutinized. For shortlisting of candidates, the following will be considered:

  • Appear online for an interview before the selection board

Students will be marked on the following criteria:

  • General Proficiency and Aptitude
  • Communication Abilities
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  • Interest to pursue the field, knowledge of the subject (in case of LL.M and M.S)

It may be noted that candidates who are waiting for certificates of the final qualifying degree will be given an extended period of 15 days (dates will be notified individually) to submit/send their degree certificates to the University.

The university encompasses separate halls of residence for female and male students. The courses offered are residential in nature. The hostel fees per annum is 88,000 rs. The campus also has the following facilities:
