BA LLB (Hons) Programme

B.A.LL.B/B.B.A.LL.B (Faculty of Law)
For all Undergraduate Programs like B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (Five Years Integrated Programme) admission shall be made on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test i.e. ‘CLAT’). Candidates should have passed the intermediate examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50 % (45 % for S.C/S.T. students) without compartments.

Hostel Accommodation

Dean of Students Welfare: There shall be a Dean of Students Welfare who shall be appointed by the
Vice Chancellor. The Dean of Students Welfare shall be responsible for the hostel administration and all issues pertaining to the residents in the hostels. The Dean of Students’ Welfare shall also be responsible for the discipline issues on the University Campus. The office of the Dean of Student’s Welfare shall have staff including the superintendent, clerk, steno typist, caretakers, and a peon and shall be under general regulation of the University. Warden: There shall be a warden appointed by the Vice-Chancellor for each hostel of the University. The Vice-Chancellor may give additional charge of warden to any faculty member. However, the Dean of Students Welfare, with the approval of the Vice Chancellor, may give charge of more than one hostel to the warden. The Warden shall perform his/her duties in consultation with the Dean of Students Welfare. The office of the warden shall have staff, including clerks, attendants, security guards, etc., and shall be under general regulation of the University. The Dean Students Welfare and Warden shall be paid such honorarium as decided by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time.

Campus life

The University started functioning on the 5th of October, 2016. It is a participating University of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal is a member of the Core Committee of CLAT 2021. The batches of B.A. LL.B. and B.B.An LL.B. (Five-year integrated course), and LL.M. (One Year Programme) are admitted through CLAT (Common Law Admission Test). The University conducts every year, its own national level test for selecting candidates for the Ph.D. Program in Law. Currently, the eighth batch of Undergraduate students and the seventh batch of Post Graduate students and Ph.D. students are pursuing their respective courses.
The students are provided hostel accommodation facilities within campus premises/ rented and
private buildings. Conveyance facilities between hostels and campus are provided through the
University bus. There is a central mess facility in each of the hostels. Hostel rooms are duly furnished with beds, study tables, chairs, and almirahs. Hygiene and proper sanitation are maintained and Wi-Fi facilities are available. For the safety and security of residents, each hostel has security guards. The University has an ambulance facility and medical care is provided through the Government Hospital located at Dhami which falls within three kilometers from the University campus.

 

Campus Facilities

Library
HPNLU Library functions as the primary Information Resource Centre and Repository of printed and Electronic Resources to fulfill the teaching and research activities at the University. The Library has a rich collection of books and journals in the field of Law, Economics, Political Science, Management, Sociology, Psychology, etc.

The Periodical section includes the Supreme Court Case, All India Reporter, Criminal Law Journal, Harvard Law Review, and Judgement Today. Columbia Law Review, Contribution to Indian Sociology, International Journal of Constitutional Law, Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, The American Journal of Comparative Law, The British Yearbook of International Law, Journal of Intellectual Property Rights, Himachal Law Reporter, and the Cambridge Law Journal.

The Reference section includes Law Reports, Bare Acts, Commentaries, Proceedings, Legislative & constitutional material, Encyclopedias, and Dictionaries etc.
